What is her ministry?

I am currently partnering with Pioneers Africa Mission.  I will be serving with Pioneers in the countries of Ghana, Mali, and Mauritania.  The first year, I will be involved with church planting among the Sissala and Banda/Ligbis peoples of Northeast and Northwest Ghana.  The next  2 years I will be living in Mali and serving there as well as in Mauritania.  My main role the first year will be teaching different church planting curriculum to the Ghanaian missionaries with Pioneers as well as other church leaders.  I will also be teaching preventative medicine protocols and emergency medical procedures to the lay people in the rural areas of Northern Ghana .  The next 2 years in Mali and Mauritania, I will be incorporating the same procedures as in Ghana.

How did she become a missionary?

After being in ministry for 5yrs., at that time, I realized there was something missing to my service to God.  I was serving with different ministries and got comfortable where I was. I then told the Lord what ever He wanted me to do, that I would do.  After 2 weeks the Lord answered and told me to go to West Africa to teach the Bible to the Arab Muslims in their language.  That was in Dec. 1999; I have been in foreign missions in West Africa ever since.

What challenges is she facing in her work?

The challenges that I would be facing in West Africa are a few  but not impossible to overcome:

  1. the language barriers of the different tribes of the Northern areas
  2. the traveling and the transportation to these areas can be very hard and are very time consuming
  3. working with the African missionaries can be challenging based simply on the different cultures coming together- it will be very important to maintain mutual respect and accountability for each other
  4. the climate conditions can be very harsh in the North, Northwest regions of West Africa because of the proximity of the Sahara Desert
